As our name suggests, we stand for “responsible government”

What does that mean?

It means we want government that is accountable; government that allows free enterprise and entrepreneurship to thrive; and government that protects and promotes individual freedom.

Our goal is to provide a voice for Albertans who believe in these values and who want to protect these values.

And the best way to protect Albertan values is for the provincial government to assert control over those areas that are constitutionally already under provincial jurisdiction.

For instance, the Alberta government should consider taking the following steps:

• Collect its own revenue from personal income tax.
• Resume provincial responsibility for health care policy.
• Create an Alberta Pension Plan to replace the Canadian Pension Plan.
• Force Senate Reform back onto the national agenda.
• Create an Alberta Provincial Police force.

Protecting our values means more than just keeping guard against the federal government and that is why ARG also acts as a watchdog on the Alberta government, to help ensure Albertans get the government they deserve at a price they can afford.

The more Albertans who support us the more effective we can be in standing up for a stronger, freer Alberta.
